A private memorial service for Margaret “Jean” Pauling, age 73, of Clinton, was held by family members, cremation services were handled by the Lee Hometown Funeral Home.
Jean was born August 30, 1951, in Lawton, Oklahoma, to Don and Ruth (Duffey) Richardson, and passed away in Cordell, Oklahoma on June 22, 2024.
Jean was raised in Lawton, and graduated from Lawton Eisenhower High School, then continued her education at Cameron University in Lawton, receiving degrees in Elementary Education, and History.
Jean married the love of her life, James Pauling on December 30, 1970, in Lawton, as a couple they lived in Pratt, Kansas for several years, before moving to Clinton in 1988. She was employed as a teacher in the Arapaho School system (later becoming Arapaho/Butler Schools) for 33 years before she retired.
Jeans hobbies were her students, she just absolutely loved teaching.
She was preceded by both her parents, her in-laws Irving and Lois Pauling, her brothersin- law David Lee Pauling, and Jack Allen Pauling, a cousin Kay Howard, and her dear friend Patricia Butler.
She is survived by her husband Jim of their home, four sons James Pauling and his wife Kelly of Chelsea, OK., Jeff Pauling and his wife Tammy of Clinton, Joe Ray of Bahrain, Roi Henson of Beverly Hills, California, two grandchildren Wesley Pauling and his wife Madison, of Claremore, Ok., and Damon Ray of Spokane, Washington, and finally three great grandchildren Bo, Hudson, and Maverick. Also survived by a special friend Tammy Thimesch.
