Funeral Services for Myrtle Thompson, 84, Clinton resident will be held 2 P.M., Friday, January 22, 2021 in the Bethany Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Billy Mucker and Rev. Elijah Carpenter. Burial will follow in the Clinton Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.
Myrtle Loriene “Baby Sister” Thompson was born June 21, 1936 in Dover, Oklahoma and passed away Saturday, January 16, 2021 in her Clinton home.
Myrtle was raised in Clinton and graduated from Excelsior High School in 1957. She married Wylie Henderson in 1955. She later married Hosey Thompson February 1, 1963 in Washita County.
She has worked in nursing care most of her adult life and had worked in several nursing homes and retired after 22 years working at the Veterans Center.
She was a member of the Bethany Baptist Church; she enjoyed playing BINGO, going to sporting events; she loved sports and especially enjoyed watching Oklahoma City Thunder and her passion was spending time with her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Hosey Thompson, son, Harmon Eugene Thompson; three sisters, Bertha Evans, Leora Bell, Bernice Grayson, three brothers, Robert Lister, Jr., Norman Lister, Honey Lister, two grandchildren, Jasmiene Pitts, Zavier Lee Thompson.
She is survived by four daughters, Victoria Kirkendoll and husband, Jessie, Belinda Crawford and husband, Mike, Cynthia Malone and Jeanette Thompson, all of Clinton; son, Chester Henderson and wife, Joyce, Amarillo, TX; two sisters, Jewel McBrayer, Clinton, Dolly Hayes, El Reno and brother, Billy Joe Lister, Clinton; sister-in-law, Fern Ora Turner and Norma Jean Thompson, brother in law, Ivory Grayson,
She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and three greatgreat grandchildren.
