Norma Fry was the last living member of the family of Edward and Rosina (Weil) Steigman. Her parents were children when their families immigrated to the Oklahoma Territory (Washita County).
They had sailed from Bessarabia, Russia on the Black Sea. Her parents met later in the Peace Lutheran Church, Bessie Oklahoma. They had ten children, their first child, a daughter, born January 1, 1911, died on January 11, 1911. On April 29, 1923, triplets succumbed as well. The remaining children stayed in the Bessie Clinton area, marrying and raising their families until God took them home for their heavenly rest.
Norma excelled in her studies and graduated from Clinton High School in May 1951. She was attractive both inside and out, acquiring many friends. She met Joe Harding and they later married.
He lost his life in an automobile accident.
Norma remained in Clinton and was employed at a bank. She met Ranor Clinton Fry at a Kiwanis coffee stop on 66. They married in Dimmitt, Texas on January 17, 1962. They lived in El Paso for many years before moving for employment and retirement.
A few days before passing, Norma and her husband were able to celebrate their 63rd wedding anniversary. Norma is survived by her husband, Ranor, a son, Jason, and a grandson, Alston along with a myriad of nieces, nephews and their children.
Norma loved to travel, play bridge, at which she was good, reading and being active in church.
