Funeral Services for Opal Lowder, 99, Clinton resident will be held 1:00 P.M., Monday, December 6, 2021 in the Custer Ave. Church of Christ, officiated by Patrick Peters. Private Burial will be held in the Fairlawn Cemetery in Elk City, OK under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.
Opal Marie (Martin) Lowder was born to John and Lilly (Pepper) Martin in Elk City, OK and passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2021 in the Homestead Assisted Living Center in Clinton, OK.
Opal was raised in Elk City and she attended Merritt
School where she graduated in 1940. She attended Beauty School and worked in a shop for a short time. She married Earl Lowder and they made their homes in Elk City, Sand Springs, Buffalo, and moved to California before settling in Clinton.
She was a longtime and faithful member of the Church of Christ; she enjoyed reading the Bible and other Christian books and she liked to crochet.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant son, Michael; two brothers, Calvin Martin and Edward Martin and a sister, Pearl Knight.
She is survived by daughter, Karen Kinsey and husband, John, Clinton; son, Larry Lowder and wife, Martha, Fair Oaks, CA.
She is also survived by three grandchildren, Brandon Sanders, Steve Henninger and Sara Henninger and two great-great grandchildren, Jagger and Jenna.
