A memorial service will be held for Orville Schapansky, 78, of Clinton at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 14, 2020, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Orville Schapansky was born May 1, 1941 to Ernest (Jim) and Esther (Brehm) Schapansky on a farm near Weatherford, OK. He passed from this earth on March 28, 2020.
Orville was a diesel mechanic working for Winden Equipment and the Oklahoma Department of Transportation from which he retired. In his younger years Orville was active in the community working with Boy Scouts and was active in his church. He enjoyed gardening, cooking, traveling and visiting with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Toni Schapansky; son, De-Wayne Schapansky and Sandy of Enid, OK; daughters Sheri Cooper and Dennis of Tulsa, OK, Lynne Chastain of Custer City, OK, Mary Sammelmann and Kam of St. Pe ters, MO, and Leslie Houchin of Redmond, WA; son Bob Chastain of Tulsa, OK; brother Leroy Allen Schapansky and Karla of Breckenridge, CO; sisters Barbara McDonald of Bonham, TX, and Linda Crow of Elk City, OK; grandchildren Kayla, Casey, Darci, Avery, Lisa, Charlie and Jeremy; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and -nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Clinton, OK, or Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation.
