Phyllis Ann Pebley
Phyllis Ann Pebley

Phyllis Ann Pebley passed from this earth to her heavenly father on Saturday, January 11, 2025, peacefully at home with her family by her side. Phyllis was born to John and Mary (Sauer) Reiman on March 12, 1936, on the Sauer Homestead in Weatherford, OK.

Phyllis was the apple of her dad’s eye. She did everything with her dad. Growing up she attended the Zion Congregational Church (which is now Crosspointe Church).

She accepted the Lord as her savior when she was 12. She was a member of Crosspointe Church at the time of her death.

She attended Friesen Rural School, southwest of Weatherford for 7 years. Her Dad would take her to school by horseback or taking the tractor with a trailer behind when the weather was bad. On those days her dad would pick up other children to go with them.

She started Weatherford Public Schools in the eighth grade and attended until her graduation in 1954.

She met a charming and handsome man, Ray (Jiggs) Pebley and on September 11, 1955, they were married. To this union they had 3 boys, Ronald Dean, Lyndon (Punkin) and Garrah Pebley. They lived in several places in Weatherford until they moved to the farm southwest of town in 1977.

Phyllis worked at many restaurants in Weatherford as a waitress such as The Porterhouse, Tiny Diner and The Cherokee West. She was a kitchen manager and cook at West Elementary, along with being a cook at all three schools on the Weatherford Campus. When she retired from the schools, she went to work at SWOSU in the Physics Dept. as a janitor. She then went to work at Chaparral Energy as a receptionist. She retired when she was 77 years old.

Phyllis was loved by all; she was a kind and generous person to all she met. Everywhere she went she knew someone who had ties to Weatherford. Phyllis loved her family so much. She loved to put in a large garden and give away and read stories of the Amish Life.

Preceding her in death are her parents John and Mary Reiman and husband Jiggs Pebley.

Survivors include her children, Ronald Dean Pebley of Weatherford, Lyndon (Punkin) Pebley of the home, and Garrah Pebley and wife Cindy of Cordell; 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-greatgrandchildren; two very special exdaughters- in-law, Connie Jewell and Vicki Sodders Reed.

The family would like to thank Shepherd Home Health Care, Davita Dialysis of Clinton, Dr. Jay Huser III, and More than Medicine Pharmacy for the wonderful care that was given to her.

Funeral service for Phyllis Pebley will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Crosspointe Church with Earl Stephenson officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home. A family visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 15, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM in The Chapel of Lockstone Funeral Home.
