Raul Perez, 53, a lifelong resident of Clinton, passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2024. Born in Clinton on October 22, 1970, to Lusio Garcia Perez and Maria Gloria Dela Cruz, Raul was a beloved member of his community.

Raul was raised in the Clinton and Arapaho area, graduating from Arapaho High School in 1987. He also attended Vo-Tech in Burns Flat, where he honed his skills in auto mechanics. Throughout his life, he worked at various local businesses, including Freightliner, Todd Stehr’s Body Shop, Ron Neeley’s, and C and L Trucking. A devoted member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Raul cherished spending time with family and friends. He had a passion for music, painting, and especially enjoyed the company of his beloved dogs.

Raul was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Gilberto and Luis Perez. He is survived by his son, Louis Perez of Hillsboro, Kansas; his daughters, Alishia Perez of Clinton and Christina Perez and her fiancé, Dirk Young, of Emporia, Kansas; his sisters, Dora Simon and her husband Rick of Arapaho and Sara Perez of Liberal, Kansas; his brother, Daniel Perez of Arapaho; and seven grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. today, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, officiated by Father Mandagiri Balaswamy. Arrangements are under the direction of Lee Hometown Funeral Home.

Raul will be remembered for his kindness, love for life, and the joy he brought to those around him.
