Services will be held for Ronald “OG” Moore, 68, at 5 p.m. today in the Bethany Baptist Church.
He died Friday, July 5, 2019.
Ronald Eugene “OG” Moore was born Oct. 30, 1950, to Delores Moore and Charlie Richardson. He grew up in Clinton, where he attended Excelsior School. He later attended Job Corps and obtained his culinary arts certificate.
Moore later joined the U.S. Army. He served in Vietnam and was blessed to make it home as a decorated hero.
He accepted God into his life at an early age and attended Bethany Baptist Church. He learned the word of God and gained the spirit to preach and teach.
While working as a master butcher, Moore attended OCCC where he obtained his associate’s degree in photography and business.
Moore enjoyed serving others, which lead him to starting his own tree removal service called The Tree Surgeon. He enjoyed sports, fishing, dancing, singing, praising God, and spending time with his family.
Moore was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Ronald Penn; and his brothers, Elroy Smith and Bobby Moore.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra Steward-Moore; five sons, Aaron Laday, Brian Laday, Channing Penn, Reginald Moore of Oklahoma City, and Salaam Moore of Clinton; two daughters, Aretha Collins and Peggy Patrick of Oklahoma City; five siblings, Luther Moore, Lovie Moore, Vivian (Larry) Baker, Juan (Wanda) Moore, and Wayne Moore; and many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
