Longtime Clinton resident William G. “Bill” Forrest, age 61, passed away peacefully at his Okmulgee home January 1st, 2021, from terminal cancer. Bill was born March 23, 1959, to Margaret Carter Forrest and Jack D. Forrest, Sr., in Cordell, Oklahoma. He graduated from Clinton High School in 1977, and later attended Rose State College.

Bill lived life to the fullest and enjoyed fishing, camping, and playing in pool and foosball tournaments. He also enjoyed muscle cars. Bill loved spending time with his dog, Radar, hanging out with family and friends, and playing poker and other card games. Bill worked at Circle S Paving with his step-father Lowell E. Sorter, Sr., and his uncle, Bill Sorter. He also worked for the City of Clinton in the Water Department for several years.

Bill was preceded in death by his grandparents, his mother Margaret Carter Sorter, step-father, Lowell E. Sorter, Sr., and his father, Jack D. Forrest, Sr. He was also preceded by his brother-in-law Tim M. Worlund, nephew Brayden Sorter, and numerous aunts and uncles.

Bill is survived by his sister Shirley and husband John Boes of Reeds Spring, MO, brother Jack Forrest, Jr., Cordell, sister Sandi Worlund, Okmulgee, brother Lowell and wife Michelle Sorter, Clinton, brother Josh and wife Kelsey Sorter, Clinton, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held with Vann Leonard on Saturday, January 9th at 2pm at the Union-Hatchett Cemetery in Bessie. Those attending are asked to wear a mask and observe social distancing etiquette. In lieu of flowers, the family requests those wishing to make donations do so in Bill’s name to CureCMD.org. Bill’s family is at peace knowing he will be forever gone fishing in Heaven.
