Zora Maye Nieto, 92, of Burkburnett, passed away Sunday, October 8, 2023.

The family will receive friends between 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 14, 2023 at Owens & Brumley Funeral Home in Burkburnett. Graveside service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Burkburnett Memorial Cemetery with Pastor Chad Stubblefield, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home in Burkburnett.

Zora Maye was born on November 27, 1930 in Foss, Oklahoma to the late James Vernon McLaughlin and Nannie Zora Dodson McLaughlin. She grew up on a farm west of Clinton, Oklahoma. Zora worked as an office manager for the Burkburnett Informer Star retiring after 20 years, and was the former church secretary at Central Baptist Church in Burkburnett. She was longtime member of First Baptist Church in Burkburnett, a member of TOPS since 1970, and taught Sunday School for many years.

Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by five sisters, and six brothers.

She is survived by her loving husband, Gregory Nieto of Burkburnett; two sons, Mike Nieto and wife Paula of Waxahachie, and Scott Nieto of Plano; her grandson, Paul Nieto and wife Meredith of Big Spring; her granddaughter, Meredith Skaggs and husband Brandon of Big Spring; three great grandsons, Paxton Skaggs, Harrison Nieto, and Maxwell Nieto; her greatgranddaughter, Everly Skaggs; and numerous nieces, and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Zora’s name to First Baptist Church in Burkburnett.
