Funeral services for Roa Gene King, 79, of Arapaho, will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, September 2, 2021 at Ray and Martha’s Funeral Home in Cordell. Interment will be in the Liberty Cemetery in Custer City.
Roa passed away on August 29th, 2021 in Oklahoma City.
He was born on October 11, 1941 to William and Hazel (Gorman) King in Hydro.
Roa grew up and attended school in Putnam and graduated from Putnam High School.
He attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University until drafted by the United States Army and served in the Vietnam as a medic.
Roa returned to school after serving his country and received his Licensed Practical Nursing license.
He met Donna Williams, they were united in marriage on December 26, 1985 in Wheeler, TX.
Roa worked at Integris Clinton Regional Hospital for numerous years, and retired from K-Mart after 20 years.
He enjoyed bowling on the men’s league. Roa loved to watch Clinton Red Tornado Football and he was an avid OU fan.
Survivors include his wife, Donna King of the home; Children: Toni Michelle Escolera and husband Javier of Yukon, Bobby Gene King and wife Sherre of Marlow, OK, Tara Lovelace and husband Robert of Burns Flat, Christi Turney of Weatherford, Brandon Turney and wife Amber of Clinton and 26 Grandchildren 24 Great-Grandchildren and two on the way, and three nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents William and Hazel King, Brothers: Billy King, Cecil King, Bobby King and Mike King and a sister: Janice King.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m.– 8 p.m., Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at Ray and Martha’s Funeral Home in Cordell.
