CHS claims third straight title
In any sport, athletes have to stay prepared for anything to happen during the season or playoffs. That even includes potentially replacing a team at some point.
Being a young program doesn’t always mean that there will not be successful years early on.
Every athlete has the chance to win a title in their sport, no matter if the odds happen to be in their favor or not.
With young athletic programs, success does not tend to come early and often for them.
Teams can’t let an obstacle stand between them and greatness. For the Clinton High School boys’ soccer team, that obstacle was Metro Christian, who Tuesday at Tulsa stood in its way of advancing to their third-straight Class 4A State title game.
“Defense wins championships,” is an often-used quote by coaches and it is often backed up on the playing field. Clinton senior Nick O’Neal knows a thing or two about defense, as he’s served as a stalwart defender for the two-time state champion Red Tornado soccer team.
The Clinton High School boys’ tennis team participated in regionals Monday at the Earlywine Tennis Center in Oklahoma City.
