To commemorate the day that’s recognized as the one when the last slave was freed in the U.S., June 19, 1865, organizers said the Clinton community is invited to an all-ages “Juneteenth” celebration to be held from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. June 19.

During a brief emergency meeting Wednesday, the Clinton City Council changed the upcoming filing dates for mayor, and Ward 2 and Ward 4 council seats to June 15, 16 and 17.

Wreck occurs on Neptune Drive
