Clinton City Council members spent more than two hours this week meeting with Oklahoma Municipal League Executive Director Mike Fina and OML Director of Legislative Affairs Jodi Lewis to get guidance on how to hire the best city manager for Clinton.

Clinton Public Library’s annual summer reading program is set to begin on Monday, but it’s going to look different this year, said head librarian Kathy Atchley. To make it easy for families to social distance, she and her staff have come up with some creative ways to keep kids reading over the summer and also provide fun activities to keep them busy.

Recently the Weatherford Police Department was notified by the Hinton Police Department of the discovery and removal of skimming devices at a gas station in Hinton.

Appreciating past

The Washita Chapter NSDAR decorated the grave of former member Lura Pierce Hollar at the Custer City Masonic Cemetery last week. Lura’s grave marker had been vandalized but was later found in Weatherford and returned in a rededication ceremony in 2019. Like many other businesses and attractions, the General Tommy Franks Leadership Institute and Museum was temporarily closed to visitors due to CO- VID-19. The Museum is set to reopen to the public on Monday, June 1 at 10 a.m.
