Because of the coronavirus pandemic, the final deadline for turning in the 2020 U.S. Census form has been extended from July 31 until Oct. 31, and city and county officials are asking anyone who hasn’t yet completed theirs to do it now.

Legislation was recently signed by the governor requiring all Oklahoma high schools to offer at least four Advanced Placement (AP) courses to students, beginning in the 2024-25 school year. It’s yet one more area where Clinton Public Schools is ahead of the curve, because AP classes have already been offered here for a number of years.

City of Clinton Maintenance Supervisor R.N. Swanson uses one of the city’s new mowers at Acme Brick Park. Swanson said they used it right off the lot, picking it up and putting it to use Wednesday.

Eagle Scout project sale on Saturday

Clinton Boy Scout Blake Brewer, left, and fellow troop member Xadrian Hernandez put up signage for a yard sale to be held from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday at the First Mennonite Church, 700 S 19th St. in Clinton. Lots of items have been donated for the fundraiser, and all proceeds will fund Brewer’s Eagle Scout project of building a privacy wall and playground area at the church.
