The Oklahoma State Department of Education has announced that two Clinton High School art students, junior Niko Lam and senior Marly Mahanay, have received recognition in the 2020 State Superintendent’s Award for Arts Excellence. Each year, high school applications in six arts categories are adjudicated by university professors and practitioners who are highly regarded in their disciplines.

It isn’t only Clinton High School seniors who are sad about missing out on what should be one of the best times of their lives — senior parents are disappointed as well. Even though the high school has an elaborate virtual graduation ceremony planned for 7 p.m. on Friday, May 15, parent Heather Waldrop wanted to do something more.
