Eastside Coalition to host cleanup, community day

The recently formed Eastside Coalition, led by Jamila Bell, is organizing a “community day” in the city’s Lincoln Addition. The entire Clinton community is invited to the event, Bell said.

The announcement in June that the 2020 Oklahoma State Fair had been cancelled left many here wondering if the 2020 Custer County Free Fair will follow suit. The answer — for now, at least — is that it’s too soon to know.

This week Clinton City Attorney Ryan Meacham informed the city council the federal bankruptcy judge in Texas has removed the hold that was put on the condemnation of the Glancy Motel. This means the property is condemned and the city has the authority to demolish it at any time.
