CHS kicks off season with Boomers

As of press time Wednesday (a phrase that’s becoming more common daily), there will be football this week, when the Clinton Red Tornadoes open their third-straight season against the rival Woodward Boomers at 7 p.m. Friday at the Tornado Bowl.

Lady Reds falter late in Cache loss

For four innings, the Clinton softball team went stride-forstride with the Cache Lady Bulldogs, but a four-run fifth inning by Cache, put CHS in an insurmountable hole that ended in a 9-2 defeat for the Lady Reds.

Clinton defeats Altus

The Clinton volleyball team (4-3 overall as of press time Tuesday) added to its win column, with a fourset win (25-21, 25-23, 24-26, 25-18) over the Altus Lady Bulldogs (4-7), Monday night at the Tornado Dome.

CHS sweeps Tipton on senior night

A 2-0 set lead put the Clinton volleyball team (3-3 overall as of press time Monday) on the path to a clean sweep, on senior night versus Tipton Thursday, at the Tornado Dome.

Clinton Middle School football's seventh and eighth grade teams were scheduled to open their seasons at Cache Thursday, but the games are now going to be hosted by the Whirlwinds at the Tornado Bowl.

Clinton football reserved seat tickets for the upcoming, 2020 season go on sale Monday, Aug. 31. The cost is $35 a ticket and will be sold at the high school in Athletic Director Eugene Jefferson's office. Previous year's ticket holders have until 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept.

A-B fighting through stretch

ARAPAHO – There are no off days in fall baseball for the Arapaho-Butler Indians (3-6 overall as of press time Thursday), and although they’re a tough out each night, they’ve come up short in four straight games.

The Oklahoman released its preseason football rankings for Class 4A this week and placed the Clinton Red Tornadoes just outside the top-10 at No. 11.

In addition to the rankings being released this week, The Oklahoman also released its preseason Class 4A All-State squad as well, and it featured Clinton star running back Atrel Bryson on it.

SENTINEL – The Arapaho-Butler softball team (10-4 overall as of press time Wednesday) swept its three-team matchup against Sentinel and Burns Flat-Dill City Tuesday night.
