Corbridge organizes Eagle Scout project

Boy Scout Troop 361 member Joseph Corbridge is turning to the Clinton community for help with his Eagle Scout Service Project, which he’s calling “Komfort for Kids.” He’s collecting new and slightlyloved small stuffed animals for Clinton fire fighters, who can in turn give them away to comfort and calm young children who are sometimes caught up in traumatic events.

Next week is Clinton’s annual Teacher Appreciation Week and, while teachers here are appreciated year-round, this year the event will hold special meaning for students and parents.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) has published Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) for nonprofit organizations seeking to receive food through the Farmers to Families Food Box Program.

Pre-spring break memories

Before this year’s prolonged spring break, Clinton High School internship student Damien Ramirez (at right) helps FirstCare Rehabilitation physical therapy assistant Stephanie Radke adjust the settings on one of the facility’s exercise machines.

DEAR HARRIETTE: My mom lives in an assistedliving community, and they are all shut down now. We can’t visit, and my mom says she’s bored out of her mind. I get that. My family and I feel the same way. What I learned, though, is that my mom has been going to town buying all kinds of unnecessary stuff on QVC and HSN. I pay her bills, and I just got an alert that she had spent beyond her credit limit. I am mortified. On top of everything else, now I have a huge bill to pay for stuff she doesn’t need. How can I get my mom to stop shopping? — Daily Fix
