Three area men were taken to the hospital following a two-vehicle accident on Interstate 40 near Elk City.

The candidate filing period began Wednesday for four county offices up for re-election this year, as well as the District 57 State Representative seat.

SENSE & SENSITIVITY

DEAR HARRIETTE: I have been dating this guy for about a year, and I recently learned that I am pregnant. I am so scared. We are in a good relationship, but nothing close to permanent. We used protection, but clearly that didn’t work. I don’t believe in abortion, but I also don’t have a job. I’m in school. My parents will kill me if I have to drop out. I know that adoption could be an option, but I hear horror stories about how kids can feel lost when they are given up for adoption. I haven’t told my boyfriend or my parents. I don’t know what to do. — Next Steps

At a meeting of the Oklahoma State Board of Education during the last full week of March, it was decided that all school facilities in Oklahoma would be closed and all extracurricular activities would be cancelled until June 30, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Clinton High School Principal Paula Harp said the cancellation of activities is especially heartbreaking for seniors, but plans are in the works to make sure the Class of 2020 is recognized in some way.
