Reds sprint past Owls

ELGIN – A game against a winless squad can sometimes make it tough to get the motivational juices flowing, but after a week off and the status of each game up in the air, the Clinton football team unleashed a total smack down of Elgin Friday night, 46-7.

ARAPAHO – The moment was never too big for freshman pitcher Morgandee Sawatzky and the Arapaho-Butler softball team (21-11 overall as of press time Friday) in Thursday’s opening day of the district tourney, winning both games handily.

Clinton football (1-1 overall) returns to the field, after a week off due to a game cancellation and opens district play at 7 p.m. tonight, at Elgin (0-3). Follow the game here, on Facebook, Twitter or via email for all your Red Tornado game updates.

Lady Reds get back in win column

A run of ranked opponents put the Clinton volleyball team (7-9 overall as of press time Thursday) on a four-game losing streak, but it remained resilient and responded with back-to-back wins against Altus Monday and Tipton Tuesday.
